WELCOME

Welcome to Beyond Hockey, a place for players at any stage in their career to find new ways to improve their mind & game

About us.

Beyond Hockey was founded to deliver the personalized 1-on-1 video coaching players often miss during their season. Through detailed shift analysis, we help athletes identify habits, refine their game, and build elite hockey IQ — knowing exactly where to be with and without the puck.

Since 2021, Beyond Hockey has grown to offer high-impact summer camps, skill and scenario-based training, hitting clinics, individual and small-group sessions, and remote off-ice strength programs. I’ve now worked with over 75 players across North America, from 8U through Junior hockey.

At its core, Beyond Hockey exists to equip young players with the resources, knowledge, and guidance they need to reach their full potential — both on and off the ice.

Coaching Philosophy

I believe the best athletes aren’t created by coaches who dictate every movement — they’re developed by coaches who ignite curiosity and self-mastery.

Every player is different. Their bodies, their positions, their strengths, and their goals are unique. That’s why I never apply a one-size-fits-all approach to in-season video analysis or off-season training programs. Instead, I tailor everything to the individual, always focusing on the “why” behind the “what.”

I don’t just correct technique or hand out workouts. I teach athletes to understand the principles that make movements effective, plays successful, and training purposeful. When an athlete starts asking deeper questions — Why does this footwork create better

separation? Why does this drill improve my explosiveness? Why does this recovery method actually work? — real growth begins.

My role is to create the optimal environment: clear insights, individualized plans, honest feedback, and the knowledge that empowers long-term development. I provide the tools and the understanding. The athlete provides the drive, the curiosity, and the ownership.

True excellence is built through athletes who learn to coach themselves — who can adapt, problem-solve, and continue progressing even when no one is watching.

That’s the standard I hold myself to, and the standard I help every athlete reach.

Dustin has been the best thing to happen to our son. Dustin has worked with him for two years now, during his U13 and U14 years. In these two years, he has created in and out of season workout plans, nutrition guidance, and mindset coaching that are individualized to our son. His growth in hockey would not be where it is without Dustin’s mentoring. I would highly recommend him as a mentor to any family looking for the extra step. ."
